First paragraph of a narrativw?

If this is supposed to be practice for a statewide test, why are you using big words you don't know? You sound like you've swallowed a dictionary. Do they let you have a thesaurus open in the testing room? No? Then how are you going to write this way? You need to take it down several notches and make your writing as simple as your mind is. This is the plea of my aperture.
