Why Does Gay Marriage Get To Be Voted On?

It gets to be voted on because it is against the original definition for marriage, society is slowly but surely redefining it, but if the majority is against it then there not going to do it, that's how it works, that's how our main language came to be English as opposed to German. If the government deliberately goes against the majority, the majority will surely rebel.
