In the state od Arizona do you need a license or permit to carry mase or a tazer gun?

My nephew which works Loss prevention is a store in AZ has had threats on his life due to catching low life shop lifters. I think he needs some protection. I was wondering if he can legally carry mase or a taser? Is a permit or license needed?
