I've been called a down to earth girl...is this a good thing or bad thing?

I have the same feelings as you...I've grown up around alcoholics and smokers and I guess I have a fear that I will turn out like that too if I ever start drinking...and I don't want to. I want to be completetly in control. So I understand how you are feeling. Most of my closest friends don't drink (or won't until they are of legal age) so that makes it easier on me. Theres nothing wrong with it, I'm sure there are a lot of men out there who would love the way you think as well. Everyone wants something different, theres sure to be someone out there who loves you for who you are. Maybe you just need to surround yourself with a different group of people...
