My rat was put on medication for his cold, now he has a lot of nose discharge. help?

My rats are on Baytril (twice a day) at the moment as well. Though they also have Doxycycline (once a day) (pain killer + antiimflammatory) and had 10 days of metacam (twice a day) before that. You should be able to notice a difference though in your rat after a couple of days of using the medicine otherwise Id suggest going to another vet (I go to a vet specifically for rodents and rabbits- they are amazing). Discharge=BAD! I dont think its because of stress, my rats get stressed taking medicine but they dont get discharge. They had that before the medicines.
