Why does it take electrical impulses, brain chemistry, etc. to create a sense of self?
Why does it take an exact mix of the right chemicals, synapse firing, brain tissue, etc. to make a "sense of self", if that is indeed the correct statement? How does all this, and much more I'm leaving out, create me or you? And why does the whole conscious experience arise in the first place? The more I think about it (!), the more I realize that this whole my consciousness existing thing is just a sham. Just all smoke and mirrors (mental chemistry and synapse communication). I making a fool out of I. Just my own brain chemistry tricking me into thinking I'm myself and making me type this. Is there a way to break free? Or is the idea of that just something my mind just planted in my mind and made me believe something ridiculous again? *shakes fist at forehead*
