Is hks ssqv bov bad for 1.8t?

I know i'm supposed to get the forge DV/BOV...this ist stock. The HKS SSQV gives me a chubby! I hear this is bad...messes up comp, turbo lag, and turbo stress, not to mention loss of power. Is there a way to remap the stock ECU to put out more boost to supply aptmospherical blow off. I have 01 jetta 1.8t stock w/ short ram intake. ?? How bad would this move b????
